Oooh… Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA.
While working at DY Designs, Inc. I was the architectural Project Manager and did the construction documents for the Italian Mens Fashion store (Canali) in Beverly Hills.
- I worked with the Italian Design Architect (Duccio Grassi Architects) to turn their design drawings into a U.S. approved set of Construction Documents
- I walked the drawings through the City of Beverly Hills Building Department
- worked with the Signage fabricator
- visited the site weekly to work with the Contractor throughout construction
The project had elaborate interior millwork as well as two storefronts – one off of Wilshire Blvd in the front and one off of a Rodeo Drive alley in the rear. Rough and smooth limestone squares protrude from the facade next to sleek chrome for an elegant textural statement.
One especially challenging feature of the space was this glass wall with L.A. seismic restrictions… but there it is! Engineered, approved and constructed.
